‘Tis the Season

This week marked the first snow of the season. Although the leftover wedding greens are still going strong in the garden, this was a gentle reminder of the changes to come. The island has quieted, the setting sun greets us in the late afternoon, and the fires have begun blazing in our wood stove. It is a magical time on the farm.

With the seasonal change, we also have a change in our flock. We’ve brought in a new ram – a Dorset – to introduce to our ewes next week. This will be the first time we have had a different breed from our Corriedales, and we are embracing this change as we have all of the others we have experienced this year. We are eager to see how this affects the strength of our flock in the spring!

We are preparing for a festive holiday season, and our shop is full of newly woven blankets, sweaters, hats, and more. Come by and check out our huge sale on Ibex, Kinross, and Indigenous Designs! We are still open 7 days a week, 11-5.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
